"Time Revolution"
Often times, when someone has their own business, the business name is a personal extension of the business owner. Hank Levy was such an example. Musician, composer, music consultant. His business name, Time Revolution, was his description of himself, manifested mostly through his music, but prominent throughout his life, even to the end.
He had a revolution with time, whether with scores of music, or just fighting life's challenges. Music, though, was his life. Non-traditional music, for a non-traditional man. I must apologize to those who came early and expected traditional 'organ music'. Fine for some, but Hank Levy preferred the jazz. All of the scores played this morning were composed by Hank and recorded by The Jazz Ambassadors.
We are here this afternoon to celebrate Hank Levy's life, not mourn his loss. Although we have all suffered through his loss, and we will miss him, we need to know and rejoice that he is now at peace. He always demanded perfection through his music. He also demanded perfection through his life.
A good friend of mine says that success is not a measure of the amount of money that one makes, but more a measure of the number of people in the world that are better off because you lived. Please, look around. See the people that Hank had a positive effect on. See the lives that may have been changed for the better, because Hank Levy was able to touch them.
Hank had the most unique way about him. He was humble with a silent strength, He was strong willed but with compassion for his fellow man.
You only had to know him for a few minutes, to know there was something special about him.
My brother and I were Hank's closest living relatives, and that made us family. And as I grew closer to Hank over the past number of years, I learned that although family is by birth, love and friendship are by choice.
With true friendship, there is unconditional love for another because it is desired. Look at all the love that has gathered here today. Hank Levy is truly blessed to have friends as you. And I have been blessed to learn much about him through some of his closest friends.
I thank you for your time and effort spent here today, to help us remember Hank. Not everyone could make it here today that wanted to, but you did and Hank thanks you.
I'd like to close with a story of the mustard seed:
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, yet when fully grown, it is the largest of all plants. It becomes a large bush and the birds of the sky come and dwell on it's branches.
We, as Hank Levy, all started out the same, just as the mustard seed. We all have choices to make that determine how we grow. Hank Levy dedicated his life to serving his fellow man through his music. The gates of Heaven have opened, ready to receive him.
Hank, I love you, and although I will miss you, I celebrate your life, your calling to music, and your friendship. -- Stewart Levy
